American Land Clearing Co. is a family-operated Texas specialty contractor focused on one thing — right-of-way clearing and vegetation management for the owners keeping the state's critical infrastructure running. Founded in 2019 alongside sister company B Squared Excavating; the same family runs both today. Two yards — Caddo Mills (HQ, Hunt County) and Midland (Permian Basin) — with 21 pieces of yellow iron and 27 direct-hire crews.
No private equity exit timeline. No quarterly growth target dictated from a fund. The owners are in the business, on the jobs, and on the phone when something goes wrong.
ALCC started in 2019 in Hunt County, Texas — same family that runs it today. The model has been the same from day one: own the iron, hire the crew direct, keep the safety record clean, and let the procurement teams find us when they got tired of chasing subcontractors.
What hasn't changed: the company is owned by the family that started it, the senior operations leaders came up through groundman / climber / general foreman / superintendent, and the equipment on the trailer with your job number is owned outright by ALCC. We're not a holding company. We're a specialty contractor that happens to be good at what we do.
The work itself doesn't change much year to year. Veg management on a transmission line is what it is — climber on a hot conductor, mulcher on the shoulder, applicator on the regrowth, foreman with a clipboard checking specs. The tools get better, the documentation gets faster, the EMR gets lower. The job doesn't change.
"We never wanted to be the biggest. We wanted to be the contractor the procurement team picks up the phone for when the storm warning hits."
Founder & CEO · American Land Clearing Co. · Caddo Mills, TXFour ideas that show up on every job, every invoice, and every safety briefing. Written down because we work too far apart to leave them implicit.
Owned equipment, not leased. We control the maintenance schedule, the dispatch, and the uptime — and the equipment shows up on time because that's how owned equipment works.
W-2 employees, not staffing-agency labor. The crew on your job stays on our payroll between your jobs. Continuity, training, and accountability are real things.
The production work happens on our payroll, our safety record, our COI. We use specialty subs only for traffic control on isolated DOT scopes.
One operations director per region or service line. Their cell goes on every job folder. Decisions happen at the job, not at a call center.
The senior team came up through the field, not the corner office. The people in the photos on this page have personally run the equipment, climbed the conductor, or applied the chemistry on a working job.

Spent 16 years as a lineman for a local power company before he bought his first piece of equipment and started doing dirt work. Founded sister company B Squared Excavating and ALCC in 2019; runs day-to-day across both yards.
